| A
great time was had by all at the 4th Annual 'Rockin' Into Spring"
event
held at the Deadwood Pavilion on March 22, 2003.
The doors were scheduled to open at 6pm, but due to a large crowd forming
outside the building, the decision was made to open the doors at 5:40pm.
The auditorium soon filled up (900-1000 people), and promptly at 7pm, the
Abbey Road Band kicked off their part of the show. We played about 15
songs,
and a large crowd of attendees danced in the area between the stage and
the seating on the main floor.
Through the lights we could see the happy faces singing along with us and
clapping their hands as we took them back in time to a "place called the
60's",
and the Liverpool Sound.
When we finished, we rapidly removed our drums and amplifiers so
Bobby
Vee and the Vees could get ready to do their show.
Bobby
Vee came over and told us how much he enjoyed our music, and was very
impressed at how
accurately we were able to play the Beatles music.
After Tony Johnson got
Bobby to sign one of his albums for a friend, we were
able to get a photo of
us with Bobby.
After visiting with Bobby for a few minutes, we had to very quickly load our
equipment into the van and run down the street to the Tin
Lizzie where we
were scheduled to start at 8:30pm. We got there at
around 8:15pm, and by
8:45pm we were in place and performing our extended
Beatles Tribute show
for the people in attendance at Tin
Lizzie.
What a busy day.......2 major shows within five hours!!!!!
It is really something to tear down a system, load it into a van, then unload
it
and set it up...while all the time wearing our tailored Beatles suits!!!
LOL
But it sure was worth it......A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!!!!
