Don Lerdal's Bio

When I asked Don Lerdal why he wanted to play the Beatles music he said, “I truly believe that on the night of  Feb. 9th 1964, my DNA was somehow altered as I watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. From that day forward, all I ever wanted to do is play the guitar. Like many others who watched that night, my life would be changed forever.”

Don’s musical background covers 35 years of playing guitar in a variety of successful bands in the upper Midwest.

A Sioux Falls native, Don has played with Eastern South Dakota groups, Sterling, Showcase, Starchild, and The Apostles during the 70’s. After moving West to Rapid City in the mid 70’s, he continued with, Cartune, Bold Lighting, Ivory, and a few country bands to help pay the bills. For the past 20 years he and his wife Darla (DD) have performed with the popular 50’s/60’s group “DD & The Fayrohs”.

Don is also a self-employed dealer of antiques and collectables and specializes in antique and vintage musical instruments, vintage watches, toys, and bicycles.
